Pantone Receives Twitter Backlash for Their Color of the Year

Turns out leaf green is a polarizing color.


Just yesterday, Pantone announced Greenery as 2017's Color Of The Year and the Internet promptly lost their minds. While many celebrated fresh, spring-like color, there was a mixed reaction over the leafy yellow-green shade on Twitter.

Anyone whose favorite color is green was happy.

While others hoped that it was a symbolic move for a fresh start to 2017.

And some were happy that it was the same color as some of their favorite things …. like guacamole.

But a lot of the Internet wasn't into it.

Some still carried a banner for past colors of the year. #Marsala4Ever

While others pointed out its similarity to Kermit the Frog.

... and '90s toys like Gak.

But most just wished that this color would've stayed in the '60s and '70s where it belonged.
