It's hard to read — or watch — the Harry Potter series without immediately becoming drawn into its world, imagining life at Hogwarts or dashing down Diagon Alley. Years later, the fandom is every bit as alive and well, as companies look for ways to help you live your best life (read: cash in on its cache), even if you're forever doomed to be a muggle.
Two candle companies have come up with creative ways to bring you one step closer to feeling like you're living in the novels. Though Highland Bluff Studio doesn't expressly use the words "Harry Potter" or "Hogwarts," it's easy to tell the line's inspired by the Boy Who Lived.
There's a whole series of scents that could take you through all seven books: Buttery Brew (a spiced, buttered-rum-and-vanilla blend that's undoubtedly Butterbeer); Cauldron Cake, like the kind Potter and friends eat aboard the Hogwarts Express; Forbidden Forest, a woodsy scent that'll remind you of where Harry had that run-in with Aragog, the giant spider; and Headmaster's Office, a Frankincense and Myrrh blend that apparently smells like Dumbledore. And that's just a few of the candles the studio sells on Amazon.

As if that weren't enough, an Etsy shop has made a name for itself specializing in a very different set of Harry Potter-inspired candles. Its Sorting Hat Candle mirrors the story in the book, only instead of placing a witch's hat on your head and having it read your thoughts to determine which of the wizarding school's four houses you belong to, you simply light the candle.
As the wick burns, the wax melts and changes colors, revealing whether you're a Hufflepuff (yellow), Ravenclaw (blue), Gryffindor (red), or Slytherin (green). The candle, sold by BigLittleCandleCo, is meant to smell like "the moment your hat hits your head." Apparently, that's a mix of leather, spice, a touch of cocoa, and cedar.
