Update, 6/24/2017: Whoops! We were so excited about the news that we got ahead of ourselves. IKEA reached out to let us know that the products you see now on Amazon are only being sold by resellers, not the company. "IKEA is not selling products on Amazon or any third party sites at this time. Any IKEA product on Amazon now is being sold by a reseller. IKEA has no relationship with them. Currently IKEA is only exploring other online platforms," Mona Liss, US Corporate Public Relations Manager said in a statement.
IKEA will reportedly start planning to sell products through websites other than its own in 2018.
Original, 6/23/2017: If you're as big of an IKEA fan as we are, you've heard by now the Swedish retailer decided to sell to third-party retailers, including (drumroll, please) the one-and-only . And some of the items are even available for Prime. Meaning instead of suffering through IKEA's never-ending maze of a store, you can buy your item online, free of shipping, and have it on your doorstep in two days flat.
While isn't up for grabs on Amazon (yet), they do have a mix of their most popular furniture pieces, along with smaller accessories. But it's important to point out that purchasing items on Amazon might be more expensive at times. For large furniture items, avoiding the pricy cost of delivery makes shopping here your best bet. However, for smaller items you should check to make sure you're not paying more than you need to.
Some of our favorite items currently available on Amazon include this modern TV stand ($97, ).
This solid wood bed frame ($119, ) is simple, but classic. We recommend balancing out the understated design with vibrant bedding.
The BEKVAM Stepstool ($42, ) is one of the most versatile pieces sold by IKEA, and here's proof. You might want to pick up more than one for your home.
The BILLY Bookcase ($187, ) is another tried-and-true product you'll find in just about every apartment you walk into. It comes in four colors, including natural wood and white.
And, of course, it wouldn't be an IKEA purchase without picking up an iconic blue bag ($10, ).
More items will likely be added to the assortment over time, which means we'll be checking back on the regular to see which of our favorites join the mix. Fingers crossed the BEKVAM spick rack makes the cut!
