While we watch her on the , Candace Cameron Bure spends her holidays in a gorgeous Napa Valley home truly fit for a Christmas queen.
Candace and her husband of 23 years, Valeri Bure, followed their passion for wine to Napa where they began making their own in 2006. started out with purchased grapes, but five years later they bought their own 2-acre vineyard in St. Helena.
"We came across this great property that had an existing home but needed a lot of work done to it," Candace told . "But the land was great, and it enabled us to have estate grapes."
The couple's renovations to the 3-bedroom, 1960s ranch involved knocking down a wall in the kitchen to create a bright and open space. A floor-to-ceiling folding picture window connects the dining nook to a balcony Valeri designed, which offers a stunning view of the vineyard.
"We always start there, because it's so lovely to look at," Candace said. "But where we always spend the majority of our time is out in the yard, on the patio."
The warm, welcoming outdoor seating area is something out of a , fully equipped with a pizza oven and dining area. Candace said "the food and the wine and the ambience" makes for a perfect place to entertain guests.
As you can imagine, the Bures' Napa home, only a one-hour flight from L.A., is a great escape for the busy TV actress. She said, schedule permitting, the family often spends Christmas in wine country, enjoying "all kinds of incredible wines."
"We couldn't believe this place exists," Valeri told Wine Spectator. "You feel like you're in a different country, in a different part of the world. It's magical, you know?"
