It's been a big week for Mandy Moore. Not only did her hit show This Is Us win for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, but after a year-long renovation she finally started moving into her mid-century modern home.
The actress bought the 3,551-square-foot house, built by architect Harold Zook in 1950, with her fiancé, Taylor Goldsmith, last January. The couple enlisted the help of interior designer and architect to turn the space into their dream abode, and boy, did it they deliver on trends.
Not only does Moore have velvet cushions on her built-in living room couches, but another '70s touch can be found on all her floors: terrazzo. Samuel explains that Moore went with a combination of dark flecks of stone and warm tones for her floors.
In the kitchen, there was a full demo, removing not one, but two islands, and replacing them with a single waterfall design made out of Calacatta Venato marble. The cabinets are painted in , a shade of sage (we're telling you, she knows what's going on in the design world) that doesn't overpower the stunning stone.
But it's her pantry that makes us super envious. Moore hired to turn her kitchen storage into the clean and organized space most people can only dream of. Inside, there's an entire shelf of sparkling water, stacked paper towel rolls that look so gorgeous they could double as an art instillation, and baskets filled with all of Moore's favorite ingredients.
The master bathroom also features statement marble, this time in the form of a slab shower.
Meanwhile the vanity has , Rejuvenation’s , and more marble from . This space has an added level of glamour from the rest of the home and is the kind of space we can imagine Moore getting ready in before her fancy awards shows.
The bedroom is still a work in progress, but will feature a green upholstered headboard and a custom bed frame. Built-in nightstands and pendant lights personalize the space even more, which might by why Moore is "dying" over it.
Outside, the home has also gotten a refresh, including a new paint job, custom landscaping, and new surfaces in the pool.
The final details are still underway, but Moore and her fiancé will soon be able to call this modern marvel home. With designs as stunning as these, we're just as excited as them to see the project come to life.
