Drew and Jonathan Scott's newest HGTV show, Property Brothers: Forever Home, sees the design bros renovating homes that, well, are meant to last forever. Throughout the series—in addition to all of the sentimental stories from the homeowners—the Scott brothers dole out some super important home and design advice, and all of us should be paying attention.
Their latest nugget of knowledge was shared on the episode titled "Suburban Las Vegas Upgrade,” where the brothers meet a couple with three teenage sons. The family wants the design team to upgrade their home to be more elegant—and the Scott brothers agree that the front door is one of the pieces that needs a face lift.
"A modern front door updates everything," Drew tells Jonathan in the episode.
“They give the house an instant face-lift by simply removing the dated, double front doors with the frilly leaded-glass window, and replacing it with more geometric doors that have a series of small, rectangular windows running down the middle."
You can give your home some serious curb appeal with a modern front door upgrade—it'll make the outside of your house look like it's gotten a complete makeover, even though the change is just one small space of your home's exterior.
The family featured in this episode of Forever Home episode spent $4,300 on their new front doors, and while it may seem like a lot of money for one small thing, the difference is real.
