All right, so, I know there are a lot of mindblowing home renovation photos floating around out there. And I really don't mean to be dramatic, but I think I've discovered the most insane one of all time. Even more impressive than Mandy Moore's laundry room before-and-after. It's a kitchen reno from Lindsay Marcus of , and it'll make you do a double take—perhaps even a triple and quadruple take—because it's that insane.
Lindsay decided to update the kitchen in her 1927 California hills home with a focus on the mountain views, which meant adding enlarged picture windows that weren't there before. The renovation required more then a coat of paint and changing out some hardware, but for the view, it was worth it.
With the help of , Lindsay was able to open up the entire floor plan to include a kitchen island and make the room feel connected to the rest of the home.
Those chic, modern cabinets you're seeing? They're from . Only they look nothing like the same-old, same-old IKEA cabinets, because she had them fitted with doors. (Consider it the ultimate IKEA hack: The company specializes in doors and hardware that fits the Swedish brand's sizes, so you can get a high-end, custom look without paying, well, high-end, custom prices.)
I've tilted my head and looked at the images around 50 times now, and I'm still insanely impressed. Opening up the space and adding windows transformed the kitchen to be much brighter and more modern than before. If you need me, I'll be plotting where I can knock down a wall in my apartment to get Lindsay's exact light.
