Measuring approximately 25,000 square feet, the in Bel Air can safely be called a mega-mansion. And since it's recently been deemed the —at $245 million (down from $350 mil— it damn well better be, right? But actually, it's incredible and I have late Jerry Perenchio, co-executive producer of Blade Runner, to thank for the opportunity to finally add to my real estate portfolio.
Originally designed by Sumner Spaulding in 1930, the estate offers panoramic views from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean, a five bedroom guest house, 75-foot pool and pool house, tennis court, 40 garage spaces, and (perhaps my favorite) a wine cellar fit to hold 12,000 bottles of wine. I repeat: 12,000 bottles of wine.
The house is listed with Jade Mills, Joyce Rey, & Alexandra Allen with Coldwell Banker; Drew Fenton, Gary Gold, & Jeff Hyland with Hilton & Hyland; and Drew & Susan Gitlin with Berkshire Hathaway. Take a look for yourself! It's one of those "see it to believe it" kind of homes. Sadly, photos of the interior aren't currently available, but the yard porn was enough to get us excited.
Of course, the inside is as magnificent as the outside, with 11 bedrooms and 18 bathrooms.
I'd love to get lost in this 282,607 square feet of land.
The pool house alone is enough to take my breath away.
It's seriously the mansion that keeps on giving.
