My dream television show is Fixer Upper: Haunted Houses, where Chip and Joanna Gaines transform deserted properties into shiplap-filled dream homes. And for the first episode, I'd like them to start with this abandoned island fort from World War I, located off the coast of Pembrokeshire in the U.K.
Called the Stack Rock Fort, it was built in 1850 and was used by the military until it was disarmed in 1929. It's been vacant since, and now it (which comes out to around $535,400).
Sure, it looks a bit decrepit and creepy right now, but this place has good bones. Put your Joanna and Chip goggles on and see the potential the stone fort has — I mean, it's surrounded by sea views, and the courtyard could be perfect for some family time.
As for the interior, the possibilities are endless. Look past the severely horrifying chains and rusted windows, and you'll notice all of the exposed brick and arched entryways.
If any of you end up buying this and fixing it up, hit me up. I have some ideas!
