With a slew of impending holiday parties and family visits, stocking up on bubbly is always a good idea this time of year. And since you'd probably like to do so without breaking the bank, it's time to put Lidl on your radar. The low-budget German grocery store moving into the U.S. is offering high-quality champagne for an absolute steal next week.
Lidl's award-winning Comte de Brismand Brut Champagne usually retails at $19.99. But for two days only—November 17 and 18—they're selling it for half price. That's 10 bucks for a bottle of bubbly that will impress any and all party guests!
"A champagne of this caliber is regularly sold at stores for more than $50 a bottle," Lidl’s Master of Wine, Adam Lapierre, said in a press release. "With this Super Weekend offer, my recommendation is to stock up while you can and take care of your gift giving and celebration needs for this coming year!"
Adam tasted more than 250 champagnes to select this bottle, which is ranked at 86 out of 100 points, per . The French bubbly has notes of pear, apple, and toast, and pairs well with brie, fresh oysters, and other briny shellfish, Adam says.
In the last few years, it's earned awards at the , the International Wine Challenge, and the Decanter World Wine Awards.
Since this is such a steal, there are some limitations on the deal: Customers can only purchase up to six bottles each. But if you buy all six of your allotted bottles, that'll take your total down from $120 to $60.
The grocery chain has more than 50 stores in seven states so far; check where to find one near you .
