As of right now, there’s no set date for the reboot premiere, but can anticipate its arrival in early 2020. With 10 brand-new episodes gracing televisions all across America, the only possible thing to complain about is the wait. But, HGTV is making up for it with the promise to from the original series, which ran from 2003 to 2012, to get viewers ready for the big day.


Who is hosting the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot?

On June 20, HGTV officially announced that ’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson will be the host of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot.

“I’m so excited to announce that I will officially be hosting the most iconic, life-changing makeover show in the history of TV,“ . “I cannot wait to bring you the next chapter of deserving families who are about to have their lives completely changed for the better and I’m so honored to be bringing you those uplifting and inspirational stories.”

On June 26, original host Ty Pennington shared his excitement of Jesse being named his replacement for the reboot.

“I’m excited for those guys bringing the show back,” . “It’s one of the best shows ever. It’s an awesome thing, so congrats!"

He continued: "It’ll be the best thing that’s ever happened to him...Those were the best years on television...Everyone should share in that."


How can I apply to be on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot?

With a host officially named and Ty Pennington only sending his best, it’s time to start looking for the next generation of deserving families whose lives will be changed forever.

Submit your family through . Expect to provide every family member’s social media pages, explain what makes your family’s situation unique, and name the top five repairs that need immediate attention. The application also has a section where you can upload up to two optional videos: one introducing your family to producers, and one giving a tour of your home.

You can also nominate a deserving family through a , which asks how they've inspired you, how they’ve impacted their community, and how your life would be different without this family’s presence.


Who will be in the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot?

Since there's still quite some time before the new episodes premiere, the network cannot confirm who the cast will be for the reboot just yet. But they did provide some initial information:

“The home overhauls will include interior, exterior and landscaping—all completed within seven days while the family is sent away for the week,” . “The series will showcase builders, designers and landscapers who race against the clock to completely renovate each home before the family returns from their time away.”

With that being said, we wouldn’t be surprised to see HGTV stars, like the , Chip and Jo, and even Christina and Tarek, appear as guests on the show. Who knows, maybe even Ty Pennington himself will make a special appearance.
