Troy Dean Shafer, star of the show Nashville Flipped that aired on the DIY Network, passed away unexpectedly on April 28th at the age of 38 years old.
Nashville Flipped aired for two seasons on the network and followed Troy's home restoration company of the same name as he set out to renovate old historical buildings in the Tennessee city before they were destroyed.
"The DIY Network family is sorry to hear about the passing of Troy Dean Shafer, a dedicated, driven entrepreneur and restoration expert who was admired by everyone who worked on the series 'Nashville Flipped,'" the network said in a statement to CNN. "We continue to extend our deepest condolences to Troy's family and friends during this difficult time."
According to his obituary, Troy loved listening to Elvis Presley and Huey Lewis and The News. He enjoyed golfing and loved Erie's chicken wings. The Nashville Flipped star liked to spend time with his cat, Marlow, and his dogs, Theo and Frankie.
Troy is survived by both of his parents, Timothy and Janet Shafer, a brother, Tim Shafer, and one niece, Samantha Shafer. He was preceded in death by his younger sister, Tania Shafer.
Radaronline.com confirms that according to the Eerie County Coroner, Shafer’s cause and manner of death was ruled accidental “due to combined drug toxicity.”
