Imagine this: You're on vacation, sailing the deep blue sea in total relaxation mode. After taking a dip in the pool, you head back to your room and hop in the shower to clean up before dinner—and out of the shower head comes...brown water. Never would you think, right?!

Well, after a July inspection, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention found that one of Carnival Fantasy's cruise ships had brown shower water AND flies in their food, among other violations.

A crew member on the ship had discovered the murky water in the bathroom that they use multiple times a day, and it was also found in the ship's medical center.

Because of these findings, the CDC scored this cruise line a 77 out of 100. According to official CDC guidelines, any score that falls below an 86 is considered failing. Fox News reported that this is the worst score that a Carnival Fantasy ship has ever received. (The outlet also reported that the Fantasy had the second-lowest score of any cruise liner during this round of inspections, and that the MS Grand Classica from Bahamas Paradise Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean’s Majesty of the Seas also received failing scores, with an 81 and 82, respectively.

Carnival is working on fixing these issues and released a statement to Business Insider saying: "The results for Fantasy are not reflective of our robust standards and dedicated commitment to our guests' health and safety. We have already taken corrective action, added additional staff, and asked USPH [United States Public Health] for a re-inspection as soon as possible, with every expectation that we will exceed USPH."
