Chip and Joanna Gaines may be the king and queen of home improvement, but that doesn't mean that's the only thing they care about. The duo is deeply involved in their community and are actively trying to make it a better place—which is why they're challenging the people of Waco, Texas (and people across the country!) to complete at least one act of kindness.
In a blog posted to the Gaines's home and lifestyle company website, Magnolia.com, Chip Gaines writes about a particular line in the company's mission statement, known as the Magnolia Manifesto, that stands out to him: “We believe in human kindness, knowing we are made better when we work together.” Because of this line, Chip, Joanna, and the team at Magnolia have decided to ask those in their community to complete a simple act of kindness on the fliers that they have posted around town.
"I believe in the resilience of humankind, and I can’t help but wonder what goodness we might be able to offer this world if we joined our voices together," Chip wrote in the blog post. "I’m challenging our people at Magnolia to make kindness loud. I’d like to challenge y’all to do the same. If you’re willing to join us in spreading kindness, use #makeKINDNESSloud on social media."
Joanna posted a sweet Instagram in response to Chip's heartfelt blog post, showing off one of their fliers already in use around Waco.
"Kindness spreads kindness…I can’t help but believe that’s true," Jo's caption reads. "I love how @chipgaines encouraged our team here at Magnolia to #makeKINDNESSloud, and we hope you’ll join us."
The dynamic duo has created four different fliers that you can download and print out yourself. Two include general acts of kindness, which Chip notes that work great for your home, office, or around your hometown. The third flier is catered more towards children that works great for teachers and in schools, and the fourth flier allows you to name the act yourself and fill in the blank.
You can download all four fliers on Magnolia.com.
