In this life, there are three things of which we can be certain: death, taxes, and that "House Hunters" is the most hypnotic show on earth.
Allison Page, general manager of at Scripps Network Interactive, called the show the equivalent of "" – you know that a couple is going to tour three potential homes and put an offer in on one of them every time, and yet you still tune in anyway. And seriously, can you think a time when you watched just one episode? No? Didn't think so.
But remember back in 2012 when , postulated that everything we knew about "House Hunters" was fake? Sweeten wrote that families featured on the show have already bought a property and pretend to deliberate which home they should buy.
Super fans have debated whether or not Sweeten's claims are true ever since. And while the writers might be stretching the truth a bit — given that the team produced more than 447 new episodes in 2015 alone — it may just be a product of their hectic production schedule.
"House Hunters" writers are finally lending some truth to — sort of. A recently released video from the writers themselves claps back at , while simultaneously poking fun at its inevitable .
In the video, for example, the staff makes their interns act out the parts of a couple, then debates the merits of using "wow" vs. "ooooh!" and "foyer" vs. "foy-ay" in the dialogue. All in all, it's a delightful segment sure to make you smile. Whether or not it settles rumors that the show is fake is still up for debate.
