Target's Car Seat Trade-In Program Is Back With an Awesome New Perk

Like you needed another reason to go to Target this week.

PSA to all parents: is back and this time with even more perks.

Similar to how the program has run in the past, you can bring your used car seat into any between September 9 and 22 to snag a 20% off coupon valid through October 6. Like before, the discount is good towards the purchase of your next car seat, booster seat, seat base, or travel system. But now, Target is saying they will also honor the coupon on the purchase of including playards, high chairs, swings, rockers, and bouncers.

Participating in the trade in deal is easy. Just bring your old car seat to Guest Services at your and they’ll hand you the coupon!

The deal is part of Target’s partnership with , a company that focuses on finding solutions for hard-to-recycle waste. Since the program has launched in April 2016, the companies have recycled more than 306,000 car seats.

On top of being an awesome deal, buying a new car seat for your little one is actually the safer choice.

"Car seats are always better to get new, rather than passed down. Continuous improvements and more rigorous standards mean newer ones are likely safer," explains Rachel Rothman, Chief Technologist at the . "We love that Target is initiating a smart take-back program to ensure a more responsible way to upgrade."
