"In season 4 you can expect to see some really unique spaces," Joanna wrote on back in May, explaining that in past seasons they've only focused on airing the most dramatic room makeovers due to the time constraints of the show. "This year we'll be branching out and showing off unique sitting nooks, fun playrooms and even a space that was specially designed for a client's sweet furry friends."

Joanna is shaking things up with bold colors, patterns and "skinnylap."

"I will forever love clean lines, neutral colors and shiplap, but It's also fun when a client comes into a design meeting and says, 'I trust you, just go for it,'" Joanna wrote on the Magnolia blog. While she maintains she still loves classic shiplap, the designer has hinted that we'll be seeing a version with thinner planks this season, as well as shiplap painted colors other than white.

German Smear will make a comeback.

While they may not be whitewashing shiplap as much in season 4, expect to see German smear, a technique that involves changing the look of exposed brick by smearing white sanded mortar on it.

We'll be seeing more than just home renovations.

Joanna has hinted that season 4 will focus on some of their other projects beyond home renovations. "Right now we're working on a few renovation projects outside the show, too," she wrote. Expect to see more of the Silos (and maybe some ?), as well as a special Valentine's Day episode dedicated to Magnolia Market's , which opened on July 12, 2016. The couple also bought Waco's historic Elite Cafe earlier this year, and plan to so we think it's safe to say we'll see some teasers for that project this season, too.

But Chip will be just as crazy and goofy as ever.

In Joanna's May blog post, she included a photo showing Chip climbing up the side of the silos, writing ,"One thing I can definitely guarantee about Season 4, is there will be no lack of Chip's stunts." Some things never change.
