The trailer opens with Elizabeth saying, "The rumors still haven't gone away."

It's unclear what rumors to which she's referring, but it's a good bet they have . The royal couple's relationship troubles are central to the trailer, and presumably the season. In the clip, the Prince is seen on his solo overseas tour sporting quite the beard and at its conclusion, he attempts to establish his loyalty and love for Elizabeth saying, "Is it not possible that among all of those problems [the prime minister resigning, issues with Margaret and her mother], there are some of us who are there for you no matter what?"

Elizabeth curtly replies, "If only."

...as will political unrest.

The Crown's second season will reportedly pick up where we left off and follow the royals through 1964, a period in which Britain had multiple political scandals, events Elizabeth hints at in the trailer by saying, "I've been Queen barely ten years. And in that time, I've had three prime ministers, not one has lasted the course."

We caught a glimpse of JFK and Jackie...

Earlier this year it was announced that Michael C. Hall , and Jodi Balfour would play his wife Jackie in the show's second season, but the trailer gave fans our first look at their portrayal of the first couple, indicating that we'll see the Kennedy's visit to Buckingham Palace, which took place in 1961, in season two.

...and Princess Margaret's new beau, photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones.

If season one focused on Princess Margaret's , season two will center around her courtship and , played by Downton Abbey favorite Matthew Goode.

The show will return on December 8.
