It's not news that installing a bathtub can increase the value of a home. So, next time you're thinking of replacing your tub with a walk-in shower, consider upgrading it to, I don't know, a rose quartz tub, maybe? That is, well, if you're interested in dropping a cool $1.1 million on the custom crystal creation.
One creator of such glamorous tubs, Baldi Home Jewels, told Forbes they spend hundreds of hours carving and sanding down the materials, which are sourced from Brazil's Amazon Rainforest and then shipped to Italy. As per Baldi creative director, Luca Bojola's decision, each tub's exterior is rough so as "not to hide the natural beauty of the crystal," while the inside is smooth.
Between the cost of the materials and the manpower needed to lift the upwards of 22,000 pounds (10,000 kg) of rock, 1 million euros ($1,114,750.00) makes a bit more sense. Should you have the money lying around for a custom three-person crystal tub, why not just consider an ultra-lux villa in Dubai while you're at it? Since most XXII Carat Villa properties at the Palm Jumeirah, naturally, offer said bathtubs in rose quartz, rock crystal, and green quartz. *Instant heart eyes.*
Of course (and very unfortunately), few actually have enough to drop $1 million on a custom crystal bathtub—a safe bet, considering the median price of a home in the U.S. is $200,000—so instead, consider renovating your bathroom with one of these gorgeous tubs:
And if you can afford one, well...need a housesitter any time soon?
