THE BEFORE: An average dining space....
The Clients: Newlyweds and first-time homeowners seeking a stylish, modern look.
The Project: A small dining area off of the kitchen.
The Flooring & Walls: We started by replacing the carpet with dark espresso hardwoods, swapping out the dated lighting, and bringing in a fresh color palette of black and white with pops of turquoise and yellow to liven up the space.
The Lighting: The modern drum light fixture and simplistic white silk shades round out the space without taking over visually.
The Furniture: The couple had specific requests for furnishings, which we think really balance out the design while creating a sense of individuality: masculine bold graphics for him and feminine mirrored furniture for her. We opted for a glass top table to keep the small room from feeling cramped. The metal dining chairs were given a fresh look with seat cushions in a turquoise Ikat fabric.
....THE AFTER: A fresh and fun area to eat and entertain!
