As more people move away from using straws and shun single-use plastics, a lot of grocery-store mainstays have seemed like a necessary evil—until now. One company is taking many of your favorite, brand-name products and offering them in reusable bottles—that they'll deliver right to your door, sparing you the hassle of refilling them! That company's called .
The brand bills itself as a circular online shopping platform, but really, that just means it's a website where you essentially subscribe to your favorite products, they ship them to you in a reusable tote, and when you're done with them, you send the empty bottles back to be refilled. Loop has partnered with dozens of brands, including , , , , , , , , , and more, to transform packaging so it's no longer single-use.
"Not so long ago, the milkman delivered reusable bottles and later picked them up to be refilled," the company shares on its website. "Loop is the milkman reimagined—honoring our past from a modern perspective."
Still scratching your head? Here's how it works:
- Simply order the items you need from and they'll be delivered right to your door in a Loop Tote.
- Once you've used up your products, toss the empty containers into the Loop Tote instead of the recycling bin or garbage.
- Schedule a free pick-up for your Loop Tote filled with empties.
- Once your items have been picked up, Loop will automatically replenish them, "in the first subscription model that manages itself."
After the empty bottles are returned back to Loop, the company "hygienically cleans and sanitizes the empty packaging...so they are ready for reuse."
Loop is launching in Spring 2019 in the United States and France, .
