Costco is a one-stop shop and basically, every host’s dream when they're planning a party. Often considered one of the last chances to throw a summer cookout, Labor Day marks the beginning of the new school year and the highly anticipated arrival of fall—not to mention a day to pat yourself on the back for how hard you've worked all year. But if you’re planning a Labor Day bash for your family and friends, you’ll be out of luck on September 2. Costco will be closed on Labor Day.
It goes without saying that Costco observes holidays differently than other retailers. The wholesale mega-store holds a reputation for shutting its doors on Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Labor Day is no exception to the rule—after all, it's a federal holiday honoring hardworking Americans all across the United States.
Devoted Costco shoppers can still plan ahead: The store will be open on the Sunday before September 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., for Labor Day essentials.
