Having a whole host of devices (phones, tablets, etc.) that make your life easier is great and all, but being so connected all the time also means one really annoying thing: dealing with tons of charging cords. They always seem to tangle so easily, not to mention that having dozens of cords plugged in everywhere isn't exactly a style statement. There are plenty of gadgets and DIY tricks you can use to keep all your cords organized and hidden away, but sometimes you need a solution that works well in plain sight—and that means you need it to be stylish, too.
That's where Native Union's Eclipse charger comes in—it's not just a system for organizing your cords, it's a charger that does triple-duty and looks good in the process. It has a round base that plugs into the outlet using only one cord, but you can plug three of your own USB cords into the base and charge three devices at once. To access the hub and plug in or unplug different cords, all you have to do is touch the top, and it will rise up. The touch sensor also activates a subtle halo light, so you can easily find your cords even in the dark.
The Eclipse charger comes in five different color options: black with a wood grain top, white with wood grain, marine blue with a fabric top, slate gray with fabric, and taupe with fabric—meaning you have options to fit your home's style.
In terms of charging power, the Eclipse auto-detects your device's input to charge at as high a speed possible (maxing out at 7.8 amp). Essentially, your smartphones and tablets will charge quickly, but a Macbook, for example, would move a lot slower. According to Amazon, the Eclipse charger will slowly charge your computer while it's in sleep mode, and while in use, it will help reduce battery drainage.
