The future is looking a lot like Disney Channel's Smart House: automatic lawnmowers, robots that fold clothes, and now a Keurig-esque gadget that will make you the perfect cup of ice cream in an instant. The LG SnowWhite had its debut as a prototype at SXSW in Austin, Texas this year, after the brand launched a successful play in the automated brewing industry with the LG HomeBrew. The new kitchen gadget might not be made by Keurig, but its flavor pod system makes it just as easy.
The LG SnowWhite uses texture pods that let you make chose ice cream, custard, sherbet or granita-style desserts, which you can then use a second pod to infuse with a specific flavor, like chocolate chip cookie dough or Neapolitan. Having a separate pod for taste and texture lets you customize every aspect of your frozen treat, which seems like something straight out of Willy Wonka's factory.
Don't scream for ice cream just yet, though— was a non-working concept. The company debuted a working HomeBrew at CES 2019 thanks to a buzzy prototype, so things are looking bright for future SnowWhite even if there's no official launch date.
